Biography
Since
18 Nov 2016, I am working as Assistant Professor in Centre of Agricultural
Biochemistry and Biotechnology (CABB), University of Agriculture, Faisalabad
Pakistan. I am running one international collaborative project with a French
team. Another project in PARB is under review after initial selection.
Currently one PhD and nine M Phil students are working under my supervision. I have my expertise in the research on plant cell
biology, plant physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology and genetics.
I worked for two years in LGDP, CNRS, Perpignan France
as Posdoc fellow till August 2016 in the team of Prof. JP REICHHELD. I was
directly involved in a French ANR project CYTHIOL (Cytosolic NADP-thiol systems
in oxidative signaling in plants). I have also studied the role of post
transcriptional mechanisms in response to oxidative stress by comparing the
quantitative proteome, the transcriptome and the polysomal transcriptome. In my
recently published work in Nucleic Acid Research (NAR) showing that redox
regulation of a plant siRNA suppressor RTL1, is regulated by
glutathionylation/deglutathionylation mechanisms. Other work on Malate
dehydrogenase (MDH) in published in Journal of experimental botany. Another
publication on ICDH is recently published in Antioxidants.
I have completed my Ph.D degree on 26 June 2013 from
University of Strasbourg, France and did 14 months post-doc in IBMP, CNRS,
Strasbourg France from July 2013 to August 2014. During my doctoral program, I
have studied the retrograde regulation signaling pathways at RNA level in
plants. From this work in IBMP, one research article in The Plant Cell and five
review articles and book chapters have been published. Still some work in to be
published.
I have more than eleven years working experience with
plants using most of the biotechnological techniques. I have five high impact
factor publications (cumulative IF > 30) and five review articles and book
chapters.
