Biography
Dr Ana Pinheiro is a PhD in Biological Chemistry from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2003) and has postdoctoral degree from Johns Hopkins University, in Malaria Immunology (2006). She is currently an Associate Professor at the Carlos Chagas Filho Biophysics Institute at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She has experience in Biological Sciences, with emphasis on Immunology, Parasitology and Biochemistry, working mainly on the following topics: 1) molecular aspects of malaria parasite/host interaction, 2) T lymphocyte immunobiology and 3) ecto-enzymes and metabolism purines
