Biography
Jiban Shrestha is working as a Scientist (Plant Breeding and Genetics) at Nepal Agricultural Research Council, Nepal from 2010 to August 2017. He has played a vital role in the development and release of three hybrids and three early varieties. Now he is working as a Coordinator at National Commercial Agriculture Research Program, Pakhribas, Dhankuta, Nepal.
Jiban Shrestha has published 100 peer reviewed articles in both national and international journals, 10 proceeding papers and 4 books. He has been affiliated to 40 journals as editor or reviewer. He has worked as a reviewer of 12 international conferences related to agriculture. He has guided 10 agricultural graduates and 4 postgraduate students for their thesis research.
Research Interest
Development of maize varieties for mid hills of Nepal, Development of maize varieties for Karnali region of Nepal, Development and evaluation ofhybrids, Development of QPM varieties for terai and mid-hills of Nepal, Maintenance of pre release early maize varieties suitable for terai and mid hill of Nepal, Conservation agriculture, nutrient management, inbred development and breeding for abiotic stress.
