Nano Spectroscopy

Nano spectroscopy simply refers to performing spectroscopy with nanometer spatial resolution. The study of the interaction between matter and electromagnetic radiation with the use of nanoparticles is called Nano Spectroscopy. Historically, spectroscopy began through the study of visible light dispersed according to its wavelength, by a prism. Later the concept was extended enormously to include any interaction with radioactive energy as a function of its wavelength or frequency. Spectroscopic information is frequently represented by an emission spectrum, a plot of the response of interest as a function of wavelength or frequency. Spectrometers, spectrophotometers, spectrographs or spectral analyzers are the Spectral measurement devices. The mostly used spectroscopy is Raman spectroscopy and infra-red spectroscopy.
