Nano polymers

Nano polymers, unlike most composites, cannot dissociate in solutions and contains amino groups as backbone materials which itself, may consists of all composition of carbon, oxygen and nitrogen atoms, depending on the chemical nature of monomers employed for polymer synthesis. A polymer or copolymer material containing scattered nanoparticles is Nano polymer. These Nano polymers can be linear or branched. Linear Nano polymers such as HPMA or polymalic acid carry functional groups distributed over the entire length of the polymer whereas branched polymers such as dendrimers usually carry them at the molecule surface.

Examples of Nano polymers include Peptides or proteins to target molecular tumor markers, Chemotherapeutic drugs or oligonucleotides usually in the form of prod rugs that are activated inside tumor cells through cleavage of linkers, Membranolytic groups that are activated in response to acidic pH in mature endosomes or lysosomes, Polyethylene glycol protecting against degradation and scavenging, Groups for tumor imaging, all moieties may be present on one polymer. Applications of Nano polymers used in preparation of various products in different fields namely known as, Timing belt cover, automotive, Tennis rackets, Hockey sticks, Tennis balls, tires, soccer balls, Auto fuel systems, Latex gloves, Beverage containers, film, Wound care and bandage, electrostatic dissipation and in many biological fields.

Edelweiss publications maintaining the journal of Nanomaterial chemistry and technology which accepts all the original manuscripts related to Nano polymers.
