Gold Nano beacons

A gold Nano beacon is a stem loop with ssDNA oligonucleotide functionalized with a fluorophore at one end and AuNP at the other end. Gold Nano beacons are proposed nanotheranostics platforms is the combination of fluorescence labeled antisense oligonucleotides and the localized surface Plasmon resonance properties of AuNPs. This system has been known as the platform for gene silencing protocols. Gold nanoparticle based molecular beacon (Au-nanobeacon) for RNA quantitation in real-time. This protocol describes the synthesis and detailed calibration of a gold nanoparticle based nanobeacon (Au-nanobeacon) as an innovative theranostic approach for detection and inhibition of sequence specific DNA and RNA for in vitro and ex vivo applications.
