Agricultural Nanotechnology

Agriculture is the backbone of most of the developing countries in which a major part of their income comes from agriculture sector and more than half of the population depends on it for their livelihood. The current global population is nearly 6 billion with 50% living in Asia. A large proportion of those livings in developing countries face daily food shortages as a result of environmental impacts or political instability, while in the developed world there is a food surplus. Nanotechnology helps agricultural sciences and reduce environmental pollution by production of pesticides and chemical fertilizers by using the nano particles and nano capsules with the ability to control or delayed delivery, absorption and more effective and environmentally friendly and production of nano-crystals to increase the efficiency of pesticides for application of pesticides with lower dose. However, creating a bio economy is a challenging and complex process involving the convergence of different branches of science. Contribution of nanoscience research in agriculture will be in the following areas like Food safety and biosecurity, Material science, Food processing and product development.

Edelweiss Nanomaterial chemistry and technology journal is a scholarly journal that aims to publish most complete and reliable source of information on the findings and current developments in the form of original Research, Review, Opinion articles, Case reports, Mini review, Short communication. Edelweiss Nanomaterial chemistry and technology Journal publishes manuscripts on Agricultural Nanotechnology.
