Probiotics cancer treatment

Probiotics are defined as live bacteria and yeasts that exert beneficial effects. The human micro-biome plays many roles in inflammation, drug metabolism even the anti-cancer properties has been identified. By manipulating the micro-biome with interventions such as probiotic administration, we may be able to reduce colorectal cancer risk and improve the safety and effectiveness of cancer therapy. Cell line studies as well as animal models and human studies have shown the therapeutic effects of probiotics in reduction of invasion and metastasis in cancer cells.
