Forensic nursing

Forensic nursing involves the application of the nursing process to public or legal proceedings, and the application of forensic health care in the scientific investigation of trauma or death related to violence, abuse, liability, criminal activity, and accidents. Before recognizing the specialty of forensic nursing, the term used was clinical forensic medicine. This term defines the use of clinical practices in order to support the judicial proceedings to protect the victim, after the death has occurred. The main intention is work with a possible victim and also forensic tasks are accomplished. Later the forensic evidence is then passed on to the criminal justice system for proper investigation. This is stated and recognized worldwide by helping to promote an international focus on violence. The nursed are becoming an important source for the healthy relationship between the health and justice systems.
