Epidural steroid

An epidural steroid injection is a type of injection in which cortisone is delivered to the outermost section of the spinal column, called the epidural space. It is used to treat radiating nerve pain from the low back, middle back, or neck. These are the Corticosteroids given through injections into the epidural space to relief pain. Epidural steroid injections are given to patients with chronic pain due to lumbar disc herniation, degenerative disc disease and lumbar spinal stenosis. The analgesic effect is temporary, but can be an effective nonsurgical treatment, Betamethasone, Methylprednisolone, Triamcinolone.
