Internal medicine
Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists or physicians in Commonwealth nations. Internists are skilled in the management of patients who have undifferentiated or multi-system disease processes. Internists care for hospitalized and ambulatory patients and may play a major role in teaching and research. Internal medicine physicians are specialists who apply scientific knowledge and clinical expertise to the diagnosis, treatment, and compassionate care of adults across the spectrum from health to complex illness. The aim of the Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoepidemiology Journal is to publish high quality research in the discipline of Pharmacovigilance by providing encouragement for editors, reviewers, authors, and readers to have an uninterrupted scientific communication.
