Biography
Assistant professor at the Department of Public Health. A
graduate of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. In 2004, I obtained
a master's degree in psychology on the basis of the work Personal development
of socially maladjusted young people in Kazimierz Dąbrowski's Theory of
Positive Disintegration, written under the direction of dr Iwona Niewiadomska.
In 2009 I obtained the degree of doctor of humanities in the field of
psychology on the basis of work based on empirical research. Psychosocial
correlates of addiction to gambling, written under the guidance of Fr. prof.
dr. hab. Kazimierz Popielski. In 2011 I was employed at the Institute of Family
Sciences and Social Work of WT KUL, initially at the Department of Family
Psychoprophylaxis, and since March 2012 - at the Department of Public Health.
Professional
experience gained in broadly understood work with people (didactic work,
personal and professional counseling, soft skills training, addiction therapy)
allowed me to define my own path of professional development. I am
scientifically and professionally interested in the problems of social
pathologies and methods of preventing them. I have specialized in pathological
gambling since 2005, gaining, among others experience in addiction treatment
centers in France (training and internships in Paris and Marseille). I
popularize methods of cognitive-behavioral therapy of pathological playing,
which I could learn by participating, among others in the training of professor
Robert Ladouceur from Canada. I transfer my knowledge to addiction therapists
by conducting trainings, presenting papers during conferences and preparing
publications in scientific and specialist journals for addiction therapists.
