Biography
Roopali Sharma, is an associate professor in the Division of Pharmacy Practice at Long Island University and an Associate Clinical Professor at the College of Medicine at SUNY Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn. She is also the program director for PGY-2 ID residency. Her specialties include both in infectious diseases and internal medicine.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from the University of Rhode Island and received her doctor of pharmacy from St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and obtained her clinical residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Roopali serves as an infectious diseases pharmacist at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, precepting pharmacy and medical trainees. She is also involved in didactic teaching at the medical school. Roopali has presented number of poster presentations at major scientific conferences including the World AIDS Conference, the Annual Meeting of ICAAC, Infectious Disease Society of America, the American Society of Hospital Pharmacist and the Annual Meeting of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals including but not limited to Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Infections Diseases in Clinical Practice, Expert opinion in infectious Diseases, and The Annals of Pharmacotherapy. Her current fields of interest include infectious disease and the care of HIV-infected patients
