Biography
Dr. Zehra Edis received her
degree BSc. in 1992 and her MSc. in 1997 in Chemistry from University of
Cologne, Germany. After that, she gained a
PhD. from the University of Cologne Germany and received her PhD. with honors in
1999.
She worked as scientific employee in the University of
Cologne and Akzo Nobel Chemicals, as well as research Intern in Bayer AG,
Leverkusen, Germany on the properties of conducting polymers.
After that she joined
Ajman University and Sharjah University, UAE as Part-time lecturer (2000-2013).
Since February 2014 she is faculty member and promoted to Associate Professor
in 2021 at Ajman University. She has published more
than 53 papers, received 8 Internal Research Grants (IRG-Deanship of Graduate
Studies and Research) as Principal Investigator and 3 as Co-Investigator from
Ajman University. Since 2021 she is also associated with the Center of Medical
and Bio-allied Health Sciences Research, Ajman University. She was SHORTLISTED
Competitor for “The Third Forum for Women in Research: QUWA: Empowering Women
in Research & Innovation, Sharjah University, UAE” in August 2022. In June
2021, she and her student won “Best Student Research” in the “4th AU Student
Research Day”, Ajman University, UAE. In January 2023, she received with her
graduate student the Best poster award in 7th International Conference of
Pharmacy and Medicine (ICPM). Currently she is supervising several research
projects.
