Psychopathology

Psychopathology is also called abnormal psychology, the study of mental disorders and maladaptive behaviors. It is based on genetic, biological, psychological, social causes and mental disorders variations. Psychopathology is the distinction between dysfunctional, or aberrant, and merely idiosyncratic behaviors. The common types of psychopathology are Bipolar Disorders (mood disorders and depressive disorders), Major Depressive Disorder (lack of energy, decreased mood, loss of motivation and thoughts of suicide), Personality Disorder (unstable relationships, paranoid thoughts, emotional instability and intense outburst of anger), Schizophrenia (hallucinations and delusional thoughts), Phobias (excessive reactions to perception of danger), and Bulimia nervosa (eating disorder, uncontrollable binge eating).
