Nano porous material
Nano porous materials possess unique physical and chemical properties, which range up to 100nm or less. Nano porous materials consist of properties based on their porosity and surface area which includes thermal stability, chemical resistance, hardness, large surface area, conductance and impedance. These materials may be natural or synthetic, classified based on the pore size, such as micro porous (≤ 2 nm), mesoporous (2–50 nm), and macro porous (> 50 nm). The following applications of nano porous materials are,
· Hydrogen storage
· Nanotechnology
· Drug delivery and Cell imaging
· Environmental cleanup
Some of the examples of Nano porous materials are zeolites, activated carbon, metal organic frameworks, ceramics, silicates, aerogels, pillared materials, various polymers, and inorganic porous hybrid materials.
