Fluoropolymers
A fluoropolymer is also well known as PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene/Teflon). This molecule contains carbon and fluorine with multiple fluorocarbon based polymer which shows high resistance towards solvents, bases and acids. These are prepared with harsh chemicals and critical temperature, for high-performance of plastic materials. These are used by different automotive, aerospace, defense related industries (like steel and semiconductor industries), cookware and small appliances. Fluoropolymers were discovered by Dr. Roy J. Plunkett in 1938. Main examples of fluoropolymers are perfluoroalkoxy and fluorinated ethylene-propylene.
