Dental Tissue
Teeth are composed of four dental tissues. They are enamel, dentin, cementum and pulp. Enamel, dentin and cementum are hard tissues whereas the fourth tissue, pulp is a soft or non-calcified tissue. Pulp is the center of the tooth that contains nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue. Teeth develop from two interacting tissues: mesenchyme and ectodermal epithelium covering mouth with the original lining. Mesenchymal cells within the dental papilla are responsible for production of dentin and pulp.
