Dental Bone Graft
A Dental bone graft is a procedure that replaces and regenerates lost bone, and can also restore proper facial contour. If teeth have been lost due to trauma, rot and decay, or injury, some bone loss often occurs, and the bone around the jaw will begin to deteriorate. A bone graft creates a more solid base for dental implants.
Bone grafting is a minor surgical procedure that is normally done in a dental office. An incision is made in the gum to gain access to the bone beneath it, and then grafting material is added. Most often, the grafting material is processed bone minerals around which our body will actually deposit new bone cells.
