Oral and maxillofacial Radiology
Oral and maxillofacial radiology is also called as dental and maxillofacial radiology. It is a part of dentistry and discipline of radiology concerned with the production and understanding of pictures and information created by all modalities of radiant energy that are utilized for the analysis and administration of diseases, disorders and states of the oral and maxillofacial region.
Oral and maxillofacial imaging includes cone beam CT, multislice CT, MRI, PET, ultrasound filter, dental panoramic radiology, cephalometric imaging, intra-oral imaging (e.g. Bitewing, peri-apical and occlusal radiographs) it also includes tests like sialographs. Obvious light, optical cognizance tomography and tera beam imaging are examples of additional methods in use or under development. Image guidance incorporates haptic and mechanical gadgets.
