Polymer engineering
Polymer engineering is generally an engineering field that designs, analyses, or modifies polymer materials. Polymer engineering covers aspects of the petrochemical industry, polymerization, structure and characterization of polymers, properties of polymers, compounding and processing of polymers and description of major polymers, structure property relations and applications.
Polymers are further divided into Thermoplastics, Elastomers, and Thermosets.
Some of the commonly used polymers are Phenolic resins, Epoxy resins, polyethylene, Polypropylene, nylon, Acetyl resin, PET and many more which are commonly used material in polymer Engineering.
Applications of these polymers are as follows:

· Drive shafts
· Helicopter rotor blades
· Propellers and many more.
