Phenols

In organic chemistry, sometimes phenols is also called as phenolics, are a class of chemical compounds consisting of a hydroxyl group (-OH) bonded directly to an aromatic hydrocarbon group. The simplest of the class is phenol, C6H5OH. Phenolic compounds are classified as simple phenols or polyphenols based on the number of phenol units in the molecule. Phenols constitute probably the largest group of plant secondary metabolites, varying in size from a simple structure with an aromatic ring to complex ones such as lignins. Phenolic compounds are widely distributed in plant tissues, particularly contributing color, flavor, and astringency to fruits.

Edelweiss Chemical Science Journal corresponds with many branches of science like organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, analytical chemistry, applied chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology and many more that aims to publish most complete and reliable source of information on the findings and current developments in the form of original Research, Review, Opinion articles, Case reports, Mini review, Short communication. This Journal provides an open access platform for the young scientists and researchers from all over the globe to share their valuable information regarding the chemical science.
