The study of the adverse effects of chemical substances on living organisms is defined as Chemical toxicity. It involves the practice of diagnosis and treatment of exposures to toxins and toxicants in humans and animals which may be natural or due to synthetic chemicals. The chemicals or toxic substances can be poisonous to people and other life which can cause illness and even death if ingested orally or by dermal exposure. Many of the human activities like use of pesticides, weed killers and other household cleaners are toxic to their lives. The discharge waste and sewage treatment from the industries contain the toxic substances which may be directly released into the waterways may also be toxic to the humans and animals.
