Rheumatic fever

Inflammatory streptococcal infection which leads to scarlet fever or strep throat is known as rheumatic fever. Permanent damage to the heart valves result in the infection of the valves, atrial fibrillation, and heart failure rheumatic heart disease are caused by rheumatic fever. fever, multiple joints pains, involuntary muscle movements, red skin rash, and high temperature, heart failure, damaged heart muscle, Aortic valve stenosis, Aortic regurgitation are some symptoms of rheumatic fever. Pain in their hips, knees, ankles, elbows, wrists, skin rash, fever or jerky movements are some symptoms of rheumatic fever in children. These symptoms will go way but any damage to childs heart will be permanent.

Penicillin, sulfadiazine, erythromycin, Aspirin, corticosteroid, Anticonvulsant are used for the treatment of this disease. Carditis, arthritis, chorea, erythema marginatum, and subcutaneous nodules are some clinical methods used to diagnosis of rheumatic fever. By the controlling of group a β-hemolytic streptococcal (GAS) tonsillopharyngitis (strep throat) initial and recurrent attacks of rheumatic fever would be prevented.
