Serostatus
The presence or absence of a serological marker in the blood is referred to as Serostatus. Seropositivity refers to the presence of detectable levels of a specific marker within the serum, while Seronegativity is the absence of such levels. HIV/AIDS prevention commonly utilizes the term Serostatus. In recent years, social advocacy has emphasized the importance of learning ones HIV/AIDS serostatus in an effort to curtail the spread of the disease. AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) is caused by HIV (Human Immuno deficiency virus). HIVbelongs to the family retrovirus, that attacks the human immune system especially CD4 cells (T cells), CD4 cells helps the immune system to fight against infections. HIV is transmitted through body fluids like blood, semen, vaginal and rectal fluids and breast milk. HIV do not spread through skin-to-skin contact, hugging, shaking hands, or kissing, Air or water, Sharing food or drinks, including drinking fountains, Saliva, tears, or sweat , Sharing a toilet, towels, or Bedding Mosquitoes or other insects. The natural life of a person with AIDS is about to three years. Approximately 1.1 million people of Americans are presently suffering with HIV. Of those people one in five they doesnt know they are infected with HIV virus.
