Cancer biology

Cancer biology: Cancer is an abnormal cell growth and has the potential to invade to other parts of the body. These contrast with benign tumors, which do not spread to other parts of the body. Signs and symptoms include a lump, abnormal bleeding, prolonged cough, unexplained weight loss and a change in bowel movements.

All tumor cells should show the six hallmarks of cancer. These characteristics are required to produce a malignant tumor. Cell growth and division absent, Continuous growth and division, Avoidance of apoptosis, Uncontrolled number of cell divisions, Promoting blood vessel construction, Invasion of tissue and formation of metastases, the progression from normal cells to cells that can form a detectable mass to outright cancer involves multiple steps known as malignant progression.

Edelweiss: Cancer Open Access is an open access journal which aims to publish most complete and genuine source of information in the form of short commentary, mini review, case report, related, but not limited to above areas and making them available freely through online without any subscriptions and restrictions to researches worldwide
