Occupational medicine

Occupational medicine is the branch of medicine which is concerned with the maintenance of health in the workplace, including prevention and treatment of diseases and injuries, with secondary objectives of maintaining and increasing productivity and social adjustment in the workplace. Physicians trained in occupational medicine diagnose and treat work-related injuries much more effectively than most primary care physicians. When injuries do occur, they need to be managed well to return the injured worker to a state of health and productivity as soon as possible. A skilled occupational medicine specialist will work with the worker, employer, workers compensation insurer, and the medical system to help the injured worker regain his or her functional abilities and return to work. Pharmacoepidemiology Researches invites an article to publish in the Journal of Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoepidemiology.
