Panic Disorder

Panic disorder is an anxiety disorder characterized by reoccurring unexpected panic attacks. Panic attacks are sudden periods of intense fear that may include palpitations, sweating, shaking, shortness of breath, numbness, or a feeling that something terrible is going to happen. The maximum degree of symptoms occurs within minutes. Most people experience a panic attack once or twice in their lives. Common symptoms associated with a panic attack include:

·         racing heartbeat or palpitations

·         shortness of breath

·         lightheadedness

·         nausea

·         sweating or chills

·         shaking or trembling

·         chest pain or tightness
