Cancer
prevention is a practice of taking active measures to reduce the rate of cancer
mortality. Prevention dependent upon individual efforts to improve lifestyle
and seek preventative screening.
The majority of cancer cases are due to
environmental risk factors, lifestyle, tobacco, overweight obesity, an insufficient diet, physical
inactivity, alcohol, sexually transmitted infections,
and air pollution, hereditary genetic
disorders. Current gene
editing techniques under development may serve as preventative measure in future.
