Drug overdose

A drug overdose is the ingestion or application of a drug or other substance in quantities greater than are recommended or typically practiced. An overdose may result in a toxic state or death. Most of the deaths are preventable, but the tough on crime rhetoric of the decades-long drug war and the stigma associated with drug use has blocked the widespread adoption of life-saving overdose prevention and treatment policies. Any drug overdose can be either accidental or intentional. Accidental overdoses tend to happen when people take more of a prescription medication than originally intended to achieve certain results, or when they use too much of an illegal drug trying to get a better high. Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoepidemiology Journal offer a stage in Pharmacoepidemiology Researches and related subjects. Journal accepts leading forefront original research papers, review manuscripts, case reports and commentary in the field.
