Dietetics

Dietetics is the study of applying the principals of nutrition to diet. Food has a significant impact on our health and changes in food diet helps to control several health problems and conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, malnutrition and many more. It is a fast growing subject as it has a high impact factor towards public health. Dietician is a professional who plans diet according to the condition of the patient and his/her body requirement. They also educate patients with basic knowledge of diet and nutrition and thus are an integral part of health care and food service management team.

A dietician designs individual nutritional therapy to maintain health and address conditions like hypertension and underweight. They develop health awareness programs at public health care communities and institutions. Diet plan is done keeping in to consideration of patient age, weight, height, sex, health condition and family history.

Edelweiss Journal of Food Science and Technology publishes articles related to food science and technology and cover various topics such as nutrition, health, dietetics, clinical nutrition and many more. Dietetics articles can be research, review or Case reports. All of these types of manuscripts are welcomed to publish in the Edelweiss Journal of Food Science and Technology.
