Nutritional deficiency
Nutritional
deficiency occurs when the body
doesn't absorb or get enough nutrients such as vitamins and minerals. Sometimes
it can result from an imbalanced diet or certain health conditions. The body
requires many vitamins and minerals to stay healthy and function properly. The
vitamins and minerals are crucial for both body development and preventing
disease. These vitamins and minerals are often referred to as micronutrients.
They are not produced naturally in the body, so you have to get them from your
diet.
Nutritional
deficiencies are more like to occur due to inadequate or poor food choices.
There are a number of Deficiencies like Iron deficiency, Vitamin A deficiency,
Thiamine (vitamin B-1) deficiency, Niacin (vitamin B-3) deficiency; Folate
(vitamin B-9) deficiency, Cobalamin (vitamin B-12) deficiency, Vitamin D
deficiency, Calcium
deficiency etc. These deficiencies can lead to a variety of health problems
such as anemia, digestion problems,
skin disorders, stunted or defective bone growth, and even dementia.
The treatment for a nutritional deficiency depends on the type and severity of
the deficiency.
