Nutrients
are substances that allow your body to make energy, build and maintain tissues,
and regulate bodily processes. Nutrition, nourishment,
or aliment, is the supply of materials-food -required by organisms and cells to
stay alive. In science and human
medicine, nutrition is the science or practice
of consuming and utilizing foods. As the body can’t make Essential nutrients;
these nutrients must come from food.
Essential nutrients are of 2 types: micro and macro
- Micronutrients: Vitamins, minerals.
- Macronutrients: Carbohydrate, proteins, fat.
As
molecular biology, genetics advance and biochemistry, nutrition has become more
focused on metabolism and metabolic pathways; to lead a healthy life style good
nutrition is important. Nutrition is the intake of food and liquids that aid in
your body survival and functioning. Proteins, Vitamins and Minerals,
Carbohydrates, Roughage, Water are the important nutrients required for the
body.
