Biography
Dr. Moses Oyewumi obtained his Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY USA. He also completed post-doctoral trainings at the University of Kentucky and the University of Iowa. Dr. Moses Oyewumi is currently an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), College of Pharmacy, Rootstown OH. Prior to the current position, Dr. Oyewumi was a Scientist, Pharmaceutics R&D and subsequently a formulation team leader at Emisphere Technologies, Inc. He is a recipient of many academic and industrial innovation awards including Elsevier’s Top Ten Most Cited Paper, Technical Excellence Award and Teaching Innovation Award. Dr. Oyewumi has authored/co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications; abstracts/presentations; 2 book chapters and 10 industrial technical papers as well as 4 patents in the area of formulation development, targeted drug delivery, nanotechnology, translational nanomedicines and delivery of macromolecules. Current research focus areas include translational nanotherapeutics, nanotechnology, cancer therapeutics, and stimuli-responsive delivery systems. Dr. Oyewumi is a member of American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) and American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS). Dr. Oyewumi has served as an ad-hoc reviewer for Medical Research Council as well as NIH. Also, he has actively participated in reviewing manuscripts for many journals in the broad area of nanomedicine, nanotechnology, bioengineering and pharmaceutical sciences. Dr. Oyewumi has been fully involved in training and advising undergraduates, graduates and pharmacy students.
Research Interest
Translational nanotherapeutics, nanotechnology, cancer therapeutics, and stimuli-responsive delivery systems.
