Iorlistat (Xenical) is currently approved by the FDA for long-term use as it reduces intestinal fat absorption by inhibiting pancreatic lipase.

Rimonabant (Acomplia) works by specific blockage of the endocannabinoid system. Sibutramine (Meridia) which inhibit deactivation of the neurotransmitters, thereby decreasing appetite in the brain.
