Nutrient
toxicity condition is also described as
nutrient deficiency. Intake of nutrients obtained in food found in plants and
animals for proper growth, metabolism and repair is known as nutrition.
Providing more or excess fertilizers
to the nutrient uptake may leads to nutritional toxicity. The deficiency of nutrient in plants cause to
Stunted growth (decreased growth), Chlorosis (lack of chlorophyll), Interveinal
chlorosis (yet veins remain green), Necrosis (death of plant tissue), Burning
(severe localized yellowing, scorched appearance), Immobile nutrient (stops the
flow of nutrients from one body parts to another) and Mottling
(spotted, irregular patterns on leaves). By using different elements like
calcium, iron, manganese, potassium, magnesium,
molybdenum, copper, sulfur and zinc as fertilizers can also changes the pH
fluctuations in the plants and leads to more toxicity. In this cases, the
nutritional values changes and mostly leads to nutritional toxicity and even
effects the regular diets in living organisms. So, uses of excess fertilizers
are very harmful.
