Biography
Dr. Roberto Federico Villa is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology of the Department of Biology and Biotechnology at University of Pavia (Italy) for degree in Biological Sciences and Chemistry. He is Doctor in Biological Sciences (D.Sc.), Medicine and Surgery (M.D.) Dr. Villa’s research interest on Physiopathology and Pharmacology of Central Nervous System Diseases (Aging, Hypoxia, Ischemia, Hyperammoniemia, Hypoglycemia, Depression, Parkinson) and drug’s interference on cerebral Bioenergetics and Molecular Medicine, by Functional Proteomics and Metabolomics of enzyme systems and on Dementia patients. He has published Scientific papers total 325: 122 (IF about 310 ISI); 65 Congress Proceedings; 138 communications, participating to 199 Congress (officially invited to 133 since 1993). International appointments ad hoc: (i) reviewer for grants - The Wellcome Trust Foundation, London, U. K.; (ii) listed in database experts for grants Commission - Research Directorate, Life Sciences Health Research, E.U.; (iii) Credits at San Diego Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center of University of California; (iv) reviewer for many Journals; (v) reviewer for grants of Italian Ministry of Research (MIUR).
Research Interest
biochemical studies on Physiopathology and Pharmacology of the Central Nervous System in experimental conditions of hypoxia, ischaemia, hyperammoniaemia, ipoglycaemia on the cerebral energy metabolism and actions of drugs on the brain energy state, molecular mechanisms of ageing and drugs interference, the study of Parkinsons disease and drugs actions in Dementia, clinical studies on Molecular Medicine and Human Genetics on patients affected by neurological diseases or Alzheimers disease.
