Sialolipoma
arises in tissues of salivary glands. The major salivary glands consist of the
parotid, submandibular, and sublingual glands. The minor salivary glands
consist of small mucus-secreting glands located throughout the lining of the
oral cavity
This tumours
usually present as a swelling in the affected gland duriation of the lump
extends depends on immune system of a person.The symptoms include duct blockage
(xerostomia, facial palsy) are associated with malignant
parotid tumours, red flag symptoms of lump to the overlying skin,
ulceration and induration of the mucosa. Diagnosis includes Endoscopy,
MRI, Biopsy, Radiographs,
and Ultrasound.
