Electrophoresis journals | Articles on types of hemoglobin | Biochemistry and Modern Applications

Electrophoresis involves the movement of particles through a medium due to forces experienced by charges in an electric field. To identify the different types of hemoglobin in blood we will use hemoglobin electrophoresis test. Hemoglobin is the protein inside red blood cells responsible for transporting oxygen to our tissues and organs.

It’s also used for analysis in forensic labs to compare DNA, in medical laboratories to do genetic testing, and in microbiology labs to identify microorganisms. Gel electrophoresis is a widely used technique in life science laboratories to separate macromolecules such as DNA, RNA. In this technique, molecules are separated based on their size and electric charge.

Biochemistry and Modern Applications is an open access scholarly journal maintaining high standards of scientific excellence and its editorial board ensures a rapid peer review process. The study of chemical processes within and relating to living organisms is known as Biochemistry. This may sometimes be called as Biological chemistry. The complexity of life can be explained using various biochemical processes.
