Proteomics

Proteomics research articles | Journals of cells and proteins | Biochemistry and Modern Applications

Proteomics is the large scale study of proteins. Proteins are fundamental parts of living life forms, with numerous capacities. The term proteomics was instituted in 1997, in similarity to genomics, the study of the genome. The word proteome is a portmanteau of protein and genome, and was authored by Marc Wilkins in 1994 while he was a Ph.D. understudy at Macquarie University. Macquarie University likewise established the main devoted proteomics lab in 1995. The proteome is the whole arrangement of proteins that is produced or modified by a life form or framework. Proteomics has empowered the identification of regularly increasing quantities of protein. This fluctuates with time and distinct requirements or stress that a cell or living being undergoes. Proteomics is an interdisciplinary area that has profited enormously from the genetic data of different genome projects, including the Human Genome Project. It covers the investigation of proteomes from the general dimension of protein synthesis, structure, and movement. It is an important component of functional genomics. Proteomics generally refers to the large-scale experimental analysis of proteins and proteomes, yet frequently is utilized particularly to refer to protein purification and mass spectrometry.

Biochemistry and Modern Applications is a peer reviewed Journal, with rapid publication process. The topics like DNA polymerases, Heterochromatin, Ribosome, Non-coding DNA, Cell biology, Metabolism, Nutritional Biochemistry, Medicinal Biochemistry and Hormonal Biochemistry are studied. This is not just limited to above areas. The knowledge related to different biomolecules and their mechanisms can be studied in the journal of Biochemistry and modern applications. This journal provides an open access platform for the young scientists and researchers to share their valuable information regarding the biomolecules and their mechanism.
