Medical record databases

Medical record databases | Pharmacovigilance Journal | Pharmacoepidemiology Researches

Medical record databases are longitudinal patient record databases that are used by health‐care providers in caring for their patients and are anonymized for the purpose of research. Information from medical record databases may be more likely than data from administrative databases to reflect the patients true clinical state given that the data are collected for the purpose of caring for the patient as opposed to solely for billing purposes. Further, these databases often include information not found in administrative databases, such as information on smoking, alcohol, and body mass index. Pharmacovigilance Journal discusses the latest research innovations and important developments in this field. Pharmacovigilance Journal is interested in the special fields related to the topics of this Journal.
