Photonic crystal fiber

Articles on Photonic crystal fiber, Peer review articles on Biomedical engineering, Open access Articles of healthcare

A photonic crystal fiber (PCF) is also called as holey fiber, hole-assisted fiber, microstructure fiber, or microstructured fiber. It is a kind of optical fiber based on the properties of photonic crystals. Photonic crystal fiber employs a microstructured arrangement of material in a background material of different refractive index. PCFs may be divided into two categories, high index guiding fibers and low index guiding fibers. Spectroscopy, metrology, biomedicine, imaging, telecommunication, industrial machining and military technology are the applications for photonic crystal fibers.
