Congenital Defects also called as congenital anomaly or birth defect. It is a structural or functional anomalies present at birth regardless of its cause. Birth defects may result in disabilities that may be physical, intellectual, or developmental. The disabilities can range from mild to severe. In simple terms, congenital refers to the existence at or before birth. Most birth defects are caused by genetic or environmental factors or a combination of the two. In most cases, however, the cause is unknown.
