Opioid Addiction

Opioids are a type of medicine often used to help relieve pain. Opioids are natural and synthetic painkillers derived from poppy plant, which helps from injuries, surgeries, toothaches and other medical. Opioid drugs that includes namely know as codeine, fentanyl, hydrocodone, methadone, morphine, and oxycodone. Opioids reduce the feelings of pain by acting on the limbic system, the brainstem, and the spinal cord. Signs and symptoms of opioid abuse can vary from individual to individual. However, there are a few symptoms that can be noticed by usage of opioids, the following are,

  • Dry mouth and Nausea

·         Drowsiness and Vomitings

  • Abdominal cramping
  • Skin rashes

·         Euphoria or Insomnia
