Heart valve surgery is used to repair or replace diseased heart valves. It is an open heart surgery to replace or repair one of four heart valves. There are three common types of heart valve procedures.
1. Open heart surgery to repair or replace a valve.
2. Valvuloplasty (using a balloon to widen a narrowed heart valve).
3. Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).
