Boston Naming Test

Neurophysiology and Rehabilitation journal, Boston Naming Test Research articles | Open access Alzheimers disease Articles

The Boston Naming Test is the most widely used test of visual confrontation naming in individuals with aphasia or other language disturbance caused by stroke, Alzheimers disease, or other dementing disorder. The original Boston Naming Test consists of 60 black line drawings, presented in order from easiest to most difficult, that the test-taker has to identify. This test assesses word-finding ability and the cognitive functions associated with that task. Many studies have shown that the BNT is useful in discriminating normal elderly persons and those with dementia.
