Neurodiversity

Neurophysiology and Rehabilitation journal | Neurodiversity Research articles | Open access , learning and mental health Articles

Neurodiversity is an approach of learning and mental health that argues various neurological conditions are the result of normal variations in the human genome of certain neurological conditions as being inherently pathological. The neurodiversity movement is an international civil rights movement, of which the autism rights movement is its most influential submovement. Neurodiversity frames autism, dyslexia, and other neurological conditions as natural human variations rather than pathologies or disorders, and rejects the idea that neurological differences need to be cured, instead believing them to be authentic forms of human diversity, self-expression, and being.
