The cancer which develops in the tissues of the mouth or throat is called Oral cancer. It belongs to a larger group of cancers called head and neck cancers. Most develop in the squamous cells found in your mouth, tongue, and lips. The major cause for oral cancer is tobacco use. It also smoking cigarettes, cigars, and pipes, as well as chewing tobacco. People who consume large amounts of alcohol and tobacco are at an even greater risk for Oral cancer, especially when both products are used on a regular basis. It might emerge as an essential injury starting in any of the tissues in the mouth, by metastasis from a far off site of cause, or by expansion from a neighboring anatomic structure, for example, the nasal pit.
