Oral hygiene is the act of keeping ones mouth perfect and free of illness and different issues (e.g. bad breath) by ordinary brushing of the teeth (dental cleanliness) and cleaning between the teeth. It is essential that oral hygiene be done all the time to prevent dental problems and bad breath. The most widely recognized sorts of dental disease are tooth decay (cavities, dental caries) and gum problems, including gum disease, and periodontitis.
General guidelines suggest brushing two times every day: after breakfast and before going to bed, but ideally the mouth would be cleaned after each dinner. Cleaning between the teeth is called interdental cleaning and is as vital as tooth brushing. This is because a toothbrush cannott reach between the teeth and hence just evacuates about half of plaque off the surface. There are numerous devices to clean between the teeth, including floss, flossettes, and interdental brushes, it is up to every person to pick which apparatus he or she likes to utilize.
